Family Counselling

Family Counselling Centre in Saskatoon works with families to help them improve their communication, restore healthy relationships, and overcome a number of issues that cause tension and dysfunction in the home environment. As children grow into teenagers, they develop different ways of coping with common issues of adolescence and sometimes don’t see eye to eye with their parents. We also help families work through stressful events such as divorce, a major move, the birth of a new baby, abuse, or a death in the family. Our counselors can help you find healthy ways of dealing with these events that affect how families relate to each other.

Employee & Family Assistance

We are a provider of an Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP). Many employees experience emotional distress every year, and we strive to eliminate that stress. We provide counselling, wellness services and resources, consultation for individuals, management, and groups, and critical incident stress management (school tragedies, post traumatic stress counselling). From one-time emergency situations to long-term issues, we are there for your employees and their families.

Individual & Family

We provide general counselling for any reason for both individuals and families. You can set your own schedule of sessions and discuss whatever you would like to, from work issues to relationship trouble, family problems, behavioral concerns, or PTSD situations.

Couples & Relationships

If you and your spouse or significant other is struggling to remain happy in your relationship, Family Counselling Centre provides couples and relationship counselling. We’ll help you uncover the cause of your issues, from lack of communication to not spending enough time together or working through infidelity. Workplace Consultation

If, as an employee, you are struggling with professional or personal issues that are affecting your behavior or performance in the workplace, Family Counselling Centre can come into your workplace and offer group consultations for both managers and employee teams. This counselling is also available when corporate management identifies potential issues with their employees and seeks to obtain assistance for those employees. Through conflict resolution techniques, team building exercises, and addressing the underlying cause of problems, we will help you achieve your goal of a happier, lower stress, more productive workplace.

If you struggle with addiction, we have addiction counsellors on staff who know the techniques, medications, and strategies you need to help you break the cycle of addiction. It is never a quick and easy solution, but through willingness and hard work, you can recover from alcohol, drug, or gambling addictions. One key to recovery is to avoid triggers—don’t have alcohol or drugs in the house, stay away from people who use these substances, and stay away from casinos and online gambling sites. Our counsellors will help you find a positive alternative to these activities that will help you rather than harm you.

Loss Resolution

Loss resolution counselling helps you come to terms with a devastating loss—the loss of your home in a natural disaster or fire, loss of your job, divorce, significant loss of money, loss of possessions in a burglary, and more. We will provide support to move forward and help you find solutions as necessary (how to save up more money or obtain lost resources, etc).
