Dawn is a Registered Social Worker and has a master’s degree in social work from Dalhousie University. Dawn specializes with addictions and mental health in the areas of sex, alcohol, drugs, gambling, anxiety, depression, and anger management. Dawn also uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing/EMDR to heal trauma. The model shifts disturbing memories to factual and it allows healing to naturally unfold. Dawn does see couples and has extensive experience working with conflict, relationship issues and anger. Dawn has also worked with children and youth in mental health and addiction working to create a more balanced family life. Dawn has several years of experience together with horses and clients as equal partners in an experiential process that empowers life-changing outcomes. This modality has no limits on age or issue but is seasonal due to inclement weather. Sessions involve incorporating horses to effectively address treatment plan or learning goals, helping with issues such as addiction, domestic abuse, behavioral disorders, depression, anxiety, and trauma. All work is done on the ground with the horses interacting freely.
